Tessa Sparks
Associate Attorney
Tessa Sparks is an immigration attorney who specializes in business immigration law. She has worked in immigration law since 2018. Tessa has extensive experience representing individuals, small to medium businesses, and corporate clients in all business immigration matters, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, P-1/3, O-1, EB-1, NIW, and Permanent Labor Certifications. In addition to employment-based cases, Tessa works with individuals seeking naturalization, waivers, and couples seeking marriage-based green cards. Tessa strives to help her clients navigate the complex United States immigration law system.
Tessa obtained her J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, MN. During law school, Tessa worked for Grell Feist as a law clerk. She also worked as a certified Student Attorney for the Mitchell Hamline Immigration Law Clinic where she assisted clients with asylum, U visa, naturalization, and removal proceedings in immigration court. She participated in the Criminal Justice Defense Externship at the Hennepin County Juvenile Justice Center. She served as the Vice President and later President of the World Without Genocide Student Chapter and as a student liaison for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Prior to law school, Tessa worked for Duff & Phelps (now Kroll, LLC) as a Data Analyst in the Minneapolis Legal Department. Tessa obtained her B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities where she studied Political Science and Mass Communications. Tessa also lived in Rome, Italy where she studied cross-cultural communications. During her undergraduate career, Tessa interned at the MN State Senate and House of Representatives. She also volunteered as a courtroom monitor for WATCH, a Minneapolis based non-profit court monitoring program that advocates for a more effective and responsive justice system in cases of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. Tessa volunteers as an Election Judge and Absentee Vote Counter for Hennepin County. She enjoys traveling, reading, taking care of her pets and houseplants, and spending time with family and friends. Tessa currently lives in Minneapolis with her significant other and four cats.
